Activities July, 2018 

    MONDAY JULY 2 – Aerobics class will be held at the Community Building.  The annual center meeting will be held at 10:00 AM.  We encourage all center members and anyone that has an interest in the center to attend this meeting to learn what is in store for the senior center and what you can do to help the center.  This meeting is an opportunity for you to share your ideas with us.  While you are here be sure to pick up your July newsletter to see what is happening this month.  Please stay and join us for lunch after the meeting. 

 TUESDAY JULY 3 – Aerobics class will be held at the Community Building. We will have a 4th of July picnic with Rhonda Lee George entertaining us with some patriotic and Country music in the morning, followed by a picnic lunch.  If you are able, bring a dessert along to share with the picnic lunch.  The pinochle players will meet after lunch.

WEDNESDAY JULY 4 - The center will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday.  Have a safe holiday.

THURSDAY JULY 5 - Barb’s aerobics will be meeting in the Community Building. A nurse will be available to check your blood pressure and weight.  Kings in the Corner will start at 9:30.  Chair Yoga meets at 10:30 AM.  Wii games available in the morning.  Art Class begins at 12:00 PM.  Hand and Foot games begin at noon also.

FRIDAY JULY 6 – Barb’s aerobics will be meeting in the Community Building.  All those who feel they are not able to do the aerobics are invited to exercise to the Senior Shape Up tape.  Bocce Ball will be played at 10:30.  Bingo will be played after lunch.

 MONDAY JULY 9 –Those who like to eat breakfast with friends can join us at the Mason Dixon restaurant at 8:00 AM. for some good food and fellowship.   Barb’s aerobics will be meeting in the Community Building.  Craft class meets at 9:30 AM.  Table games are available throughout the day and Wii bowling will be available as well. 

TUESDAY JULY 10 – Barb’s aerobics will be meeting in the Community Building.  The Red Hat ladies will be going on picnic today.  Doug will be available after lunch to assist with computer problems.  Pinochle games start at 12:00 PM. 

WEDNESDAY JULY 11 – Barb’s aerobics will be meeting in the Community Building.  Mary Ellen’s ceramic class meets at 9:00.  She has a lot of nice things to paint or she will get whatever you would like to paint.  The Bridge Club meets at 12:00.   Come join in the fun and keep cool on a hot afternoon.

THURSDAY JULY 12 – Barb’s aerobics will be meeting in the Community Building. A nurse will be available to check your blood pressure and weight.     Kings in the Corner will start at 9:30.  Becky will be here for chair massages at 9:00 AM.  Wii games available in the morning.  Chair Yoga begins at 10:30.  Art Class begins at 12:00 PM.  Hand and Foot games begin at noon also.

 FRIDAY JULY 13 – Table games will be available in the morning.  Bocce Ball will be played at 10:30 indoors.  Donna Strine from Senior Life will present a program on “Eating Grains the Healthy Weigh” followed by Bingo after lunch.  A group will be going to American Music Theater to hear the “Texas Tenors” in the evening. 

 MONDAY JULY 16 –Barb’s aerobics class will not meet this week due to the carnival.  .  Wii bowling and other games will be available throughout the day.  This is the first night of the Eureka Fireman’s carnival, so come out to our stand to get one of those delicious strawberry or peach smoothies, a baked potato or sweet potato,  and a raffle ticket!  This is one of our big fund raisers that helps to keep the center open and operating.  While you are at the carnival enjoy the music by “Stoney Lonesome Band”.

           TUESDAY JULY 17 – Barb’s aerobics class will not meet this week due to the carnival.   If you would like to exercise this week you may exercise to our Senior Shape Up tape.  Wii and table games will be available throughout the day.   Doug will be available after lunch to assist with computer problems.  Pinochle players meet at 12:00.  Stop by our stand at the carnival for a smoothie, baked or sweet potato, and raffle ticket.  Entertainment for tonight will be the “Josh Christina Band”.

WEDNESDAY JULY 18– Barb’s aerobics class will not meet this week due to the carnival.  Mary Ellen’s ceramic class meets at 9:00.  She has a lot of nice things to paint or she will get whatever you would like to work on.  The bridge club meets at 12:00 noon.  The 500 card party begins at one o’clock.  If it is hot outside, come in and enjoy the air conditioning while you are playing cards and enjoying each other’s company.  Then come on out to the carnival and stop by our stand for a smoothie, baked or sweet potato, and raffle ticket.   The entertainment this evening will be “Foggy Hollow”.

 THURSDAY JULY 19 – Barb’s aerobics class will not meet this week due to the carnival.  Various table games will be available throughout the day.  Kings in the Corner starts at 9:30.   Chair Yoga meets at 10:30 AM.  Art Class begins at 12:00 PM.  We are looking for more people that would like to try their hand at painting.  It is a very easy class and you are sure to enjoy the time you spend in the class.  The Hand and Foot group will meet at noon also. We will still be selling baked or sweet potatoes, drinks and raffle tickets at the carnival.  Stop by and at least say hello.   The entertainment for tonight will be “Stu Huggens & Black Hats”.

  FRIDAY JULY 20 –Join us as we exercise to the Senior Shape Up tape.  Then join us for few games of bocce ball.  After lunch we will be playing bingo.  Only two more nights to get your smoothies and raffle tickets at the carnival.  The entertainment for tonight will be “Tanner Mountain Band”.

SATURDAY JULY 21 –This is your last chance to purchase a smoothie and  a raffle ticket.  There are eighteen nice prizes on our raffle ticket, so make sure you have yours. All prizes will be given away at the end of the carnival.  We want to thank everyone that supported our center this past week, we appreciate your support.  Be sure to stop by the center and have lunch with us sometime.  “Borderline” will be the entertainment to end the carnival.

 MONDAY JULY 23 – Aerobics will be back in the Community Building.  There will be plenty of table games available throughout the day also.   

TUESDAY, JULY 24 - Aerobics will be held at the Community Building.  The usual table games and Wii games will be played throughout the day.  Doug will be available after lunch to assist with computer problems.  Pinochle players meet at 12:00.   Volunteers will go to Manor Care in Dallastown to help the residents with bingo after lunch. 

WEDNESDAY JULY, 25 – Aerobics will be held at the Community Building.  Mary Ellen’s ceramic class meets at 9:00.  She has a lot of nice things to paint or she will get whatever you would like to work on.  Table games will be available throughout the day.  The Red Hat Rubies will be meeting at 10:30.  The bridge club meets at 12:00.  They would like a few more people to join them, so if you know anything about bridge then stop by and join the club.

 THURSDAY JULY, 26 –Aerobics will be held at the Community Building.    A nurse will be available to check blood pressure and weights.  Various table games will be available throughout the day.  Kings in the Corner will start at 9:30.   Chair Yoga meets at 10:30 AM.  The art class meets at noon as well as the Hand and Foot group. 

FRIDAY JULY 27 – Get up early and check out the bargains at the Rinely Yard sale and quench your thirst with a smoothie.  We will be located on Dogwood Lane.  Then head on down to the senior center to play some bocce ball or Wii games before lunch.  Have some lunch and stay to play bingo. 

SATURDAY JULY 28 – Get up early and check out the bargains at the Rinely Yard sale that you may have missed on Friday, then quench your thirst with a smoothie. This will be your last chance to get a smoothie from the senior center this year.

MONDAY JULY 30 - Aerobics will be held at the Community Building.  There will be plenty of table games and Wii games available throughout the day. 

TUESDAY JULY 31 - Aerobics will be held at the Community Building.  There will be plenty of table games and Wii games available throughout the day.   Pinochle will be played after lunch.
